I. AUSTRALIA
Hi everybody,
I'm just back from a 5 day trip to Australia with my family. It was fabulous, I met some extraordinary people, a few things I wasn't expecting but that only made my trip better.
Saturday the 28th of February, 5:30. Ready for a 22h flight !
Quite a good flight except for a few turbulences.
We arrived at Sidney airport very early in the morning and we went straight to the hotel.
( Mercure Sydney 818 - 820 George Street, Sydney, Nouvelle-Galles du Sud 2000, Australie ) --> Photo de l'hôtel
We spent Sunday the first of March in the hotel resting because of the jet lag
Monday 2nd of March. Our first day discovering the place !
Today we are going to visit monuments !
Opera house will be the first one we visit!
Being the sporty family that we are (ahaha) we decided to have a long walk around the building where we discover magnificent views of the bay!
First disappointing thing happened: we were not able to visit it on the inside like we had planned..
The next thing we visit is Barbour bridge. You must all know it from television series or films.
In real, it is very impressive. It is quite a long bridge but great for families or lovers.
After that, we walked up the 200 steps in the south east tower to enjoy the pylonn lookout.
Then, we visited Sydney tower that is the second biggest observation tower in the south hemisphere (after the Auckland one in New Zealand). It is 305 meters tall, no one can miss it!
When we arrived at the top, we asked ourselves how it was possible to walk up so many stairs in the 40 seconds and then we discovered the amazing panoramic view that is so unique. You can see the whole bay, the city, the different districts of Sydney and thanks to the good weather, the blue mountains to the west.
We then finished our day with the queen Victoria building, that is the nicest shopping centre in the world. We bought our first few souvenirs.
We then head back to our hotel
Tuesday the 3rd of March,
We spent the morning at the famous Bondi beach in Sydney.
We then ate in a little restaurant near the beach and then we went back to take surfing lessons, it was quite funny!
We then met a tourist guide who brought us to meet the kangaroos, I think they are now my favorite animals! I was not allowed to approach but it was still magical being so close to them !
We finished the day off by visiting the Australian museum, here are some photos :
Sorry for the bad photo quality, I only had my phone to take pictures that day !!!
Wednesday the 4th of March,
We walked all the way to the royal botanic gardens of Sydney, it was fabulous.
The vegetation, the colors and the diversity were amazing!
The garden is so magnificent that I am having difficulty describing it but I have joint some photos.
We spent the morning there and had a picnic
We spent all afternoon wandering around Sydney passing threw the rocks, the central business district, Chinatown p, darling Barbour, paddington, Kings cross, Potts point.
Thursday the 5th of March.
Last dayyyyy!
We packed our suitcases and bought a few last souvenirs for our friends before heading to the airport..
With again a 22 hour flight ahead of us..
One thing I would say is that you should well and truly plan your trip ahead of time and leave yourself 10 to 15 minutes in between every
visit!
I will be back very soon with a new trip. But on my own this time ! ......Goodbye
